Uncle Bob's LegacyBob's Letter's To the FolksSeptember 18, 1938, Lexington, KY Dear Folks, I expect that you all have been expecting a letter from B. L. for wuite some time. I am writing now to assure you all that I have made myself quite at home here in Lexington and don't know when I have had a more satisfied feeling. I mean by that last statement that I like the school, the people, and most of all the country. Of course by now I have enrolled and attended a few classes, monday morning shall start things off. I suppose all of you have been wondering about my subjects so I shall tell you of them first. Accounting (4 hrs), Business Organization (3 hrs),Llabor Problems (3 hrs), Prinicpals of Marketing (3 hrs), philosophy. From what I can gather through dire threats of the instructors - accounting will probably be the easiest of the lot. Of course I feel that all of you are giving me a good deal of moral as well as financial support. So I plan too and shall make the best of my opportunities. I am afraid b y the time I again see the fair city of alva, which shall b e Xmas, I shall have forgotten a number of interesting incidents that happened during my summer trip. For they shall be covered by many hours of lecturing and well tampered down by other hours of recreation. In fact I found it quite hard to force a few extra special good ones on the ranching side of the house during a pleasnt trip through Virginia. But nevertheless, if anyone is still interested, I shall gladly try to remember a few of them. i wish at this time to thank you for the letter in Paris and also Uncle Jim - They were both appreciated a great deal. I was sorry that I was unable to come home for a few days before going to school, but it would have been quite expensive. Considering the time that I would have left in which to stay. So it shall mearly be postphoned until Xmas. Now as the last of my paper is drawing near, and my mind is also quite muddled - and being unable to think of anything important that I have left out, I may as well come to some sort of an ending - probably a belated one. Yours respectfully, P.S. I might add that the last letter forwarded me from Columbia, MO. contained a very shocking letter in which I was not only accused of being boyish but was also given up as a lost lover -- These among many other things. It seems I failed to write from New York, and a girl waited a week for me in Omaha. Even I'll have to admit it was quite on oversight to do a mean thing like that! © 2008 by WWWPubCo & OkieLegacy.org All Rights Reserved.
