Sep 7, 1936 -- Will! I'm off for Kemper. Hope I like...
I don't know what to expect am hoping for the best.
Sep 8, 1936 -- Arrived today at 3 0'clock practiced
in band from four to six, (about had a fight. I don't like hazing).
Sep 9, 1936 -- Had a few qualms but after sleeping
on it I feel OK. I believe I'm going to like it.
Sep 10, 1936 -- Had my first good surprize today.
Made 3rd chair solo. Not bad. Also I'm enrolled. I'm going to do my
best.
Sep 11, 1936 -- Coming OK. No trouble as yet. Lessons
are kind of tough. Had Oklahoma club meeting tonite. We're planning
on dinner, dance. I'll have to save a little of the allowance.
Sep 12, 1936 -- Same proposition, or whatever you
want to call it. Its not so bad though. Just tiresome, same old thing
day after day.
Sep 13, 1936 -- Well! got my rifle today. Took me
3 hours to get just the grease off it let alone polishing it. Just another
hair in my soup.
Sep 14, 1936 -- Well! finally get myself reported.
That makes the fifth mile I've walked. Got to watch my step. Also got
new shoes, they must feel sorry for me.
Sep 15, 1936 -- Well! Another day some more demirites,
I'm really getting the old shoes broken in.
Sep 16, 1936 -- Went out for Company football today.
I'll be able to make it, then some. Plenty big boy, though.
Sep 17 , 1936 -- Well! Played a game today. Fine stuff,
not one day and play a game the next, I'm so darn stiff I can't hardly
move.
Sep 18, 1936 -- 2 letters from mom. Well! Our football
team looks a lot better. Isure am flat broke. Am looking forward to
Saturday afternoon. We can go to town.
Sep 19, 1936 -- Same Old stuff.
Sep 20, 1936 -- Went to town met Stultz. Virginia
. Had a nice time. 2 swell looking girls.
Sep 21, 1936 -- Saw Stultz again today. She sure gives
me plenty of house!
Sep 22, 1936 -- Went to Navy band concert last nite.
It was really wonderful. It was worth my time and money.
Sep 28, 1936 -- Played a game today. We won. I really
was surprized at myself. I got my share of the tackles.
Sep 29, 1936 -- Dance tomorrow nite. Corbin - go me
a blind date. I hope she isn't to bad. Boy, how I hate accounting.
Sep 30, 1936 -- Recuperated from dance. Slept till
7 - My that was a luxury - Boy! did I ever get stuck. Never again, "A
blind date."
