Uncle Bob's Legacy

Uncle Bob's Journal

Mid-1930s thru 1945

Jan. 19, 1936 -- Meet with Wentworth, I got to swim. Won the event I was in. (According to the webmaster at the Kemper Military School & College, "This would have happened while he was at Kemper, Wentworth is another military school in Lexington MO. ")

Mar. 8, 1936 -- Just got back from Clarks at Russellville, Kentucky. I sure had a swell time. I met a plenty nice girl by the name of Virginia Goodwin going to Ward Belmont, Nashville, Tennessee from El Paso, Texas.

Apr. 24,1936 -- Went to KC on band trip & Broadcast. Clark & I had quite a good turn. I spent 50 cents foolishly or on second thought maybe it was sensibly.

May 23, 1936 -- Last sunday parade & last sunday dinner. I'm not in the least unhappy.

May 24, 1936 -- The beginning of the End school willl soon be out. (Exams).

Apr. 16, 1945(?) -- Government inspection is 1/2 over it sure won't make me mad at all, either.

Apr. 17, 1945(?) -- Mr. & Mrs. B. McGill and Mr. & Mrs. J. G. Clark will meet in Alva or Russellville, KY. Above changed to May 8th.

Apr. 18, 1945(?) -- Government inspection is all over and am I ever glad. I answered a question. I was sure scared.
