Uncle Bob's LegacyBob's Journey to Europe(As told by Robert McGill through his June - August 1938 Diary.) July 26, 1938, Luzerne [Written on Hotel Du Lac Stationery.] Dear Folks, This is one of the most popular resorts in the whole of Switzerland, and from what I can tell - Switzerland seems too be the most popular country for tourists that we have yet visited. Although Venice was well crowded with tourists. The trip up from Venice was very tiresome and I was very glad to get there all together. After a visit with Bern S. we came straight to Luzerne. I don't know whether I told you or not, but Gibbens and I went to Italy by ourselfves and the rest went to Munich and all met here at Luzerne. We really have been doing some heavy traveling. I hope to stay here a few days and recuperate or what ever you call it. I think that Munich will be quite an interesting place and I'm sure that we shall like it there better than we have in several other places in Germany where we have stayed. I think that Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. It is much like Colorado and the food is wonderful and plenty well served. We are taking a boat trip to Interlaken.
