Robert Lee McGill - (Gene McGill's younger brother) born 23 Aug. 1916, Alva, Oklahoma; died 21 Feb. 1954, Alva, Oklahoma

Married:
1. Helen Louise Soper (marr. 1 June 1944; div. 22 June 1948.)
2. Felica Monfort (marr. 21 June 1950 'til Bob's death Feb. 21, 1954) - Dr. Mariam Felicia Monfort, daughter of Marion Strawn Monfort and Hazel (Darling) Monfort. Granddaughter of John Weatherford & Daisy Hope Strawn Monfort. Felicia was the Great-granddaughter of John and Harriet Monfort.
     J. W. Monfort was born Feb. 2, 1871, Marshfield, Webster County, MO; died May 1, 1948. He married Daisy Hope Strawn, daughter of Dr. Joel Noel and Mary Elizabeth Strawn, 9 Sept. 1886, Elk City, KS. Daisy was born May 13, 1872, Fort Scott, KS and died May 23, 1956. J. W. & Daisy had two sons, Marion Strawn Monfort and John Joel Monfort.
     Marion Strawn Monfort was born Oct. 3, 1898, Alva; died Sept. 9, 1977, San Jose, Calif. Marion married Hazel Darling, Nov. 23, 1923, Wichita, KS. Hazel was born July 17, 1903, Salina, KS and died April 1, 1982, Woodland, Calif. Marion Hazel had 4 children, Felicia, John (died at birth), Toni, Moniet.
     Dr. Mariam Felicia Monfort was born May 20, 1925, San Francisco, Calif. and died Dec. 21, 1972. January, 1944 Felicia (18 years of age) married 1st husband, Roy C. Powell. 21 June 1950, Felicia married 2nd husband, Robert Lee McGill.
     John Birdsley Monfort was born June 5, 1928, Pratt, KS and died at birth.
     Toni Monfort was born July 25, 1938, Wichita, KS and married Jerry Addleston.
     Monet Monfort was born Aug. 29, 1944, Wichita, KS and married Rod K. Lion Nov. 10, 1968. They had two children, Tristina Lindsey and Angela Phillips.
     J. W. & Daisy's second son was John Joel, born June 22, 1909, alva. John married Esther "Mac" (?) and died May 4, 1965. They had two children, Joel, Jr. and Brenda Lynn.


Robt. L. McGill Schooling...

went to Kemper Military School & College in 1936 for couple of years. Graduating during the school year 1937-1938. As a member of the Junior College Graduating Class of 1937-1938, he was First Sergeant; member of Military Honor Society; member of Special Drill Platoon; Letter in Varsity Swimming; Letter in company Football; Captain of Swimming Team; Member of K Club; member of Band; member of Orchestra; and member of General Honor Society. He graduated 7th May 1938 with an Associate of Commerce Degree.

Kemper Military School 37-38 Certificates:

Bob transferred to Kentucky University for 1938-40.

Wm. Nelson Gibbens, Oklahoma City, OK, backrow, sax; Phillips Brooke "PB" Gentry, piano, Clarendon, TX; Floyd Houston Huddleston, left-front sax, Leland, Miss.; William Olus Greer, front-center, sax; and Robert McGill (on left-front, coronet). These fellas also played in a dance swing band in third class & tourist with my Uncle Bob aboard the "Ship Europa" during the Summer of '38 voyage to Europe.

Bob served in the Armed Forces (1940-1945) as 2nd Lt, Captain & Major in WWII. He died of Lung Cancer 21 February, 1954.
