Bob's Journey to Europe

(As told by Robert McGill through his June - August 1938 Diary.)

Holland

Wednesday; August 10, 1038

Interesting trip - Holland is much as I expected.  Even to the wooden shoes.   The canals are much like those in Venice so I didn't get much interest in them.   First stop was Amsterdam.  Went on trip of city through the canals.

took a few pictures.  Holland is quite modern.  American flags are every where.

Saw Rotterdam and the Hague.  Rotterdam is the largest sea port in Europe.   Holland is very clean and neat like Germany.  I would suggest spending most of time in Holland in small towns instead of cities.

Well.  It looks like we go to England.  12.00 transportation; 2.50 Visia; and saving money on weekend ticket.  Boat trip in very clear.
