Dearest Darling,
You know, honey, I haven't the faintest idea what the date is but I'm
sure that it doesn't matter. I'm all relaxed in a very nice cozy place.
Honey you should see it. Really "snozy". Radio and everything.
Although, I did have to call the electrician over to make a few adjustments
on the radio so it would work. I am down south of the Ruhr now up in
the mountains and darling it is simply beautiful. Of course we have
the most comfortable place in the countryside and really it is pretty
swell -- of course yours truly got his thumb in on one of the nicest
of the bunch.
The country is very wooded and has lots of mountain streams. Everything
is as green and nice as it can be and really, darling, I know you would
love it.
No mail tonight so naturally I'm reading all my old mail over again,
but no matter. I always know that I will probably get two tomorrow.
I hope you had a good time at H. Jones recital. I certainly would have
enjoyed being there with you. But after all she sang just for us once.
Do you remember? You had better.
Would give anything to have you here with me tonight, Helen. Golly
-- but we are missing a lot of good loving time that we can never catch
up with. Isn't that a sad situation.
Say, honey, do you realize that it will hardly be anytime at all until
our wedding anniversary is here. One whole year and I only worked at
it just five months. Darling thats really serious. Honestly the army
should certainly do something about that - gosh though something like
happened on the train would be so perfect right now. I want you so bad,
honey.
Sorry this letter is so short, sweetheart, but I've got to go too work
believe it or not. All my love and please know that I am still
Your faithful husband,
Bob.
