A Grandfather's Legacy

1909 Penny Postcard - Sapulpa, Oklahoma Oilfield
(Grandpa Continues Baseball & Courtin' Constance)

1909 Sapulpa, Okla. OilfieldThis is an interesting postcard dated August 27th, 1909 depicting an Oil Field around Sapulpa, Oklahoma oilfiled view.

The wooden derricks and tanks are scattered over the hillside. I'm not quite sure what part of Sapulpa it was taken.

Backside of Sapulpa Ppostcard

backside of 1909 postcardThe backside of this postcard was sent to my Granny, Constance Warwick, and it shows a postmark of August 27, 1909, 2-PM, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. It was addressed to Miss Constance Warwick, Alva, Oklahoma.

It reads, "Am looking for a missive. We lost today for the first time in long while. I work tomorrow. Ever, WJ"
